Pay the Fare
The fare is affordable, typically between approx 1 USD in Turkish Lira (prices may vary). You can pay in cash, with your bank card, or use an Alanya Kentkart if you have one.
When returning from Dim Cay, keep in mind that the card payment terminal in the gorge may occasionally lose internet connectivity. This can make it impossible to pay by card until you leave the gorge. To avoid any inconvenience, always carry some cash with you.
Return Trip
For the return journey, simply catch the same bus back to Alanya. Check the schedule in advance to avoid waiting for too long. The last bus from Dim Çayı to central Alanya typically departs around 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Bus schedules can vary depending on the day, season, and other factors. To confirm the exact time of the last bus, it's a good idea to check with the driver or use a local transportation app like Moovit or Alanya Kentkart for real-time updates. How to Stay Online in Turkey: A Simple Guide to Internet Options
If you’re traveling to Turkey and need internet access, there are several options to consider. Here’s a breakdown of the most common methods, from traditional SIM cards to the modern convenience of eSIMs like Airalo.
Buying a Local SIM Card
-
From Local Markets: Buying a SIM card at local markets is simple but can be expensive as in such markets you will get “tourist price”. Expect to pay more for convenience.
-
From BIM Supermarkets: BIM supermarkets offer a more affordable option that is called Bimcell SIM card. Take your passport and visit the store during business hours, preferably 3-4 hours before closing, to allow time for registration. However, the process may vary depending on the store's policies.
* If you face difficulties purchasing a Bimcell SIM card, you can opt for tourist SIM cards from major operators like Turkcell, Vodafone, or Türk Telekom. These are more expensive but easier for tourists to obtain.
Using an eSIM with Airalo
For the most affordable and hassle-free solution, especially if you plan to stay connected in multiple countries, we recommend using an eSIM.
Airalo for iOS and Android is a mobile app that lets you buy and install eSIMs (embedded SIM cards) for your phone. It’s quick, easy, and works in Turkey and many other countries.
It's cheaper than buying a local SIM card or paying for roaming.
