Dim Çayı
About this place
Dim Çayı in Alanya is one of those genuinely impressive natural destinations that deserves more attention than it usually gets in travel guides. The reservoir lake is surrounded by dense green forest and tall mountain peaks that reflect in the turquoise water below — the colour of the lake is almost unbelievably vivid, especially on a bright summer day. We recommend driving all the way around the lake rather than just stopping at the first viewpoint, because the far side gives you access to a large bridge over the river where the views are particularly dramatic. The winding mountain road requires careful driving, so take it slowly. Along the Dim Cay river valley you’ll find a number of riverside restaurants and picnic areas popular with both locals and visitors — Pınarbaşı and Göl Piknik are two worth considering for a meal by the water. It’s about a 20 to 30 minute drive from Alanya city centre, making it an accessible and rewarding day trip from Alanya for those who want to see the Turkish mountain landscape up close.
