Star Picnic is a café and restaurant in the mountains above Alanya with what is arguably the best view of Dim Çay Lake that you'll find from any eating spot in the area. The lake stretches out below you and the surrounding mountains frame the scene beautifully — it's one of those views that makes you want to sit and do nothing for an hour. The food on our visit was decent enough — standard Turkish fare that you'll find in most similar restaurants in the region — and we did wait a reasonable amount of time for our order, so factor that into your plans. Star Picnic reportedly also has some bungalow accommodation available, though we can't confirm the details from our visit. Getting here requires a car, as the café is in the higher reaches of the Dim Cay valley. If you're already planning a trip to the Dim Cay area from Alanya — which is itself about 25 to 30 minutes' drive from the city centre — Star Picnic makes an excellent view stop. Go for the scenery, and consider the meal an added bonus.
