Sapadere Canyon is one of the most impressive natural attractions accessible as a day trip from Alanya, and we'd count it among the must-see things to do in Alanya for anyone who enjoys the outdoors. The canyon walk follows a wooden boardwalk along a river gorge surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery, and it leads to a cool natural pool where you can swim — though be prepared, the water is genuinely cold even in July and August. The walk is manageable for most fitness levels and doesn't require any special equipment. You can reach Sapadere Canyon by your own car or as part of a jeep safari tour, which are widely available from Alanya city centre and include the canyon as a stop. The jeep tour option is actually a fun way to see it if you don't mind sharing the day with other visitors. The canyon is roughly an hour's drive east of Alanya, past the Dim Cay area and into the mountains. On windy days it can be breezy inside the gorge, so bring a light layer.
