Alanya Teleferik 'Cable Car'

The Alanya Cable Car (Teleferik) is the most enjoyable and visually rewarding way to reach Alanya Fortress from Cleopatra Beach. The cabin ride takes you up the dramatic cliff face of the Alanya promontory, and during the ascent you get beautiful elevated views of the Mediterranean coastline, the old town below, and the Red Tower by the harbour. It’s one of the best things to do in Alanya for a combination of practicality and experience. A word from our visit: we purchased a round-trip ticket, but found at the top that we weren’t permitted to complete a full circuit — we had to exit and re-enter to use the return leg, which felt slightly misleading and inconvenient. Hopefully this is something that has been clarified since. One other practical note is that tickets cannot currently be bought online, so you’ll need to queue in person during peak times. The cable car station is on the Cleopatra Beach side, making it easy to combine with a beach visit and a walk along the Alanya promenade. All in all, a scenic and worthwhile attraction in Alanya that we’d recommend without reservation.
